All Atlas editorial suites are connected to shared fiber storage for security and maximum flexibility. Client workspaces are password protected so you are in total control of who can access, edit or view footage from your private shared storage workspaces. Once your creative editorial is completed your workspace can be archived or delivered to mastering for final color, finishing and output to tape and file based deliveries.

Atlas artists utilize a variety of toolsets specific to the needs of each individual production. When grading for projected environments our artists have in their arsenal the Autodesk Lustre, Davinici Resolve or Assimilate Scratch projecting in 4K, 2K or HD 4:4:4 for insight into the finest levels of color space and accuracy. In our broadcast bays our artists utilize the same toolsets with additional reach into Davinci Color Correctors, Autodesk Smoke, AVID Symphony Nitris and Apple Color.

Atlas Digital's 3D Stereoscopic division relies on the robust Autodesk and Assimilate product lines for finishing and mastering in 3D. Client's enjoy 3D capable broadcast bays and 3D capable projected environments for ultimate precision and insight into the smallest pixel and exacting 3D convergence. Our seasoned artists draw from traditional 2D proven workflows and capitalize on today's digital mastering techniques to deliver 3D editorial and finishing that is ahead of the curve.

The Atlas team is adept in the interactive world of DVD. The process starts with a "needs analysis" meeting to determine the proper format and intended audience. The resulting scope of work defines Standard Definition (SD) or Blu Ray (HD) formatting and the level of interactivity desired.
The next step is a schematic design which acts as both a project roadmap and the menu hierarchy that a user experiences while navigating through each disks content. At this point the creative, programming and encodings teams can way in about technical specifications encoding parameters and individual interactive elements.
We are able to duplicate DVD-R formatted disks while you wait. DVD-R's play in most DVD set top players, computers and gaming consoles. We also prepare masters for replication. The replication process involves the creation of a glass master used to stamp DVD's which have the highest level of playback (near 99%) across all end user devices. Usual turn around times for replicated masters are two to three weeks (rush orders are available) and a "check disk" is standard practice to ensure your final disk plays exactly how you imagined.
The Atlas Digital Encoding team has the know how and the toolsets to ensure the highest quality digital stream. Uncompressed media is ingest through hardware encoders to streamline the process while allowing for segment re-encoding and multiple pass variable bit rate encoding.
Digital Archiving has the greatest impact on the long term content viability. Uncompressed digital masters are able to serve as "mezzanine files" which can be re-purposed into multiple formats without degrading the source. Restoration techniques and Film Grain have been a highly debated topic amongst the entertainment community since large format digital acquisition took hold. Many feel that varying levels of grain evoke an emotional response from viewers. The absence of film grain in digital formats gave birth to the application of the "Film Look". Our artists are seasoned experts in the applications of grain to achieve desired Film Looks. It is often only after the combination of the final color grade and the application of grain, while ever so slight, that we achieve the desired emotional response from viewers.
The delicate application of grain in digital formats is balanced by the removal of unwanted artifacts, dirt, hair and film scratches in traditional film acquisition formats. Our artists can remove these unwanted elements with speed and precision to ensure that each frame displays how it was intended. For extreme cases or highly damaged frames we often utilize our visual FX experts who can begin to paint and re-create damaged areas to save frames that otherwise would end of on the cutting room floor.
